This integration enables ODMs and OEMs of Cavium’s LTE small cell to add a highly accurate IEEE 1588 timing capability to their FDD and TDD LTE eNodeB products.
Cavium’s OCTEON Fusion processors are the industry’s most powerful “base station on a chip SoCs”, and are among the most widely deployed enterprise-class LTE small cells. [NVE] NVE Introduces Narrow-Body Isolated RS-485 and PROFIBUS Transceivers, IL35- and IL36-seriesNVE Corporation has introduced narrow-body versions of its award-winning IsoLoop® IL3585 and IL3685 RS-485 and PROFIBUS-compliant high-speed isolated transceivers.
The narrow-body versions, designated with the -3E suffix, are the world’s smallest isolated transceivers. The “dash 3” 0.15-inch wide, 1.8 millimeter clearance height 16-pin SOIC package is half the size of other isolators.
Best-in-Class Specifications
Both new transceivers feature best-in-class speed and efficiency specifications, including 40 Mbps data rate, 20 nanosecond typical propagation delay, and 3 milliamp typical controller-side quiescent current.
Both meet or exceed ANSI RS-485 and ISO 8482:1987(E) industry standards. IL3685-3E transceivers are also fully PROFIBUS compliant, including the rigorous PROFIBUS differential output voltage specifications.
Rugged and Reliable
Designed for rugged industrial applications, NVE’s IL35- and IL36-Series isolated transceivers have a -40 to +85 degree Celsius temperature range, 15 kV bus ESD protection, and current limiting and thermal shutdown features. Receiver inputs feature a “fail-safe if open” design.
Parts are IEC 61010-2001 approved and UL 1577 recognized. Unlike optocouplers or other isolation technologies, IsoLoop isolators have indefinite life at high voltage. -

The Ag1171 is a single Subscriber Line Interface Circuit (SLIC) in a 14 pin single in line (SIL) format. The combination of features and packaging offers extremely efficient use of board area, saving significant system size and cost, minimising time to market for Telephony Systems developers.
Silver Telecom has designed and developed a device that can operate either from a +5V or +3.3V supply. The Ag1171 has integral DC-DC converter and ringing generation thus providing all the line powering requirements from a single supply. The SLIC requires a minimum of external components making the telephone interface very easy to design and improving time to market for equipment developers. It is a complete line interface in a single package, with emphasis on size, low cost and ease of use. It is the world’s smallest SLIC plus DC/DC solution.The Ag1171 has been designed to work with loop lengths of up to 6.0km. Its performance to regulatory standards allows use in public and private network applications.
The system interface has been designed for connection to all popular codecs for both the audio and signaling connections.
