Ethernity - Ultra-low Power DPU Platform on ENET for G.fast MarketEthernity - Ultralow Power DPU Platform on ENET for G.fast Market
Single Chip G.fast Scalable DPU Architecture by Ethernity Networks Tested for 16, 24 and 48 Port Platforms
14 July 2016, Lod, Israel – Ethernity Networks, the leading provider of Systems-on-Chip, announces successful tests of ENET38xxZ/99 platform for G.fast FTTdp deployments. The company has ported the popular ENET based flow processor SoC into Xilinx Zynq series to form the family of G.fast DPU switch controllers, addressing the needs of emerging broadband access residential applications. This market now requires flexible support of different bandwidth and reverse power feed of remote devices from the customer’s residential gateways, and ENETxxZ/99 was tested for reliable provision of such DPU features.
Ethernity’s ENETxxZ/99 family is scalable, with application ranging from the low-end and very low power FPGA to multiport G.fast chassis. The tests showed extremely low power consumption of 2.7W for SoC combining switch, traffic manager and CPU subsystem.
“Apart from the best price-per-port-per-power, Ethernity’s G.fast platform is ready for next generation software defined networking (SDN), supporting Hierarchical ACL and port virtualization within G.999.1 channelized interfaces, EFM bonding and MEF requirements. We anticipate emerging challenges for broadband communications and provide our customers with the future proof solution”, – explains Eugene Zetserov, Ethernity’s AVP Business development.
Ethernity’s G.fast platform provides uplink connection to the service provider’s central office in the network from 2.5Gbps to 20Gbps, with 5Gbps to 40Gbps data throughput.
ENETxxZ/99 family utilizes Xilinx Zynq series, and leverages the scalable architecture of ENET, the core product of Ethernity Networks. ENET supports advanced functionality matching Metro market requirements, microwave backhaul and novel NFV/SDN concepts, where functions can migrate to cloud platforms.

[Silvertel] Silvertel introduces the DC-DC Boost Converter, Ag7100Silvertel have developed a new 40W DC-DC boost converter. Designed as a wide ranging input module for nominally 12V to 24V, it generates an isolated and regulated 48V-57V DC output. This module is an ideal compact solution for generating the higher voltages needed for 802.3af and 802.3at PSE designs in POE applications to complement the Ag6100. It also includes 1.5kV isolation to meet the requirements of IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at. The small footprint and low cost modular design mean it is well suited to any 12 or 24V to 48V boost circuit application.

[NVE] NVE Introduces Six-Kilovolt Isolators, V-seriesNVE Corporation has increased the isolation voltage rating for its “V-Series” High-Voltage Isolators to 6 kVrms, which is the best in the industry.

Best-in-Class Performance- V-Series best-in-class specifications include:
- 6 kVrms isolation (1 minute) per UL 1577
- 1 kV Working Voltage (line voltage) per VDE 0884-10
- 10 kV surge voltage per VDE 0884-10
- 110 Mbps
- Up to 125°C operating temperature (IL700V-Series)
- >100 teraohm (1014 ohm) barrier resistance
- Wide-body packages with True 8 mm creepage
The Best Barrier
Isolation is provided by NVE’s unique ceramic/polymer composite isolation barrier with a barrier resistance of 100 teraohms and an extrapolated life of 44000 years.
True 8 millimeter Creepage
The new isolators use NVE’s True 8™ isolator package, which meets demanding eight millimeter creepage requirements under IEC 60601. With ordinary wide-body packages, full eight millimeter creepage cannot be assured.
Rigorous Testing
In accordance with the benchmark UL 1577 Electrical Safety Standard, V-Series Isolators are 100% tested to a remarkable 7.2 kVrms (10.2 kVpeak).
Popular Applications
The new parts are ideal for demanding applications such as medical instruments, smart-grid interfaces, motor drives, and power supplies.
Available Now
Six-kilovolt versions of NVE’s most popular channel configurations are in stock with short delivery, and additional configurations will be available soon. A broad range of two, four, and five-channel datacouplers, as well as isolated RS-422 and RS-485 transceivers are available.
