Multigig -- High performance Timing Solution:
Multigig is a fabless, high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductor company headquartered in Scotts Valley, California. Multigig is focused on providing state-of-the-art technologies that solve significant system-level timing problems. By coupling Mulitigig’s core strengths of innovative, high performance analog design with its broadly patented proprietary RotaryWave™ technology it forms the foundation for barrier shattering, energy efficient, low cost timing products targeting the most demanding applications in storage, communications and computing.
The Multigig QuietClock (MQC) series of devices with its patented RotaryWave technology significantly improves jitter and phase noise performance which enables enhanced networking system throughput by widening the eye diagram to decrease the Bit Error Rate (BER). The RotaryWave technology represents a paradigm shifts in clocking technology, now protected by over 30 patents, and targets high-performance communications applications. The major and compelling reasons customers are designing with RotaryWave technology today is:
1. 10-100x improvement in jitter and phase noise as compared to competitive solutions
2. Substantially lower power consumption (often 50%)
3. Lower price than the competition makes for an effortless BOM decision
RotaryWave™ Technology clock has nearly ideal characteristics including:
- High Precision - Low Noise
- Extreme Resolution
- Low Power
- Natural Distribution Methods
- Robust for Manufacturing

Multigig introduces QuietClock™ (MQC) family of clock synthesizer ICs for high speed communications, telecom, networking, server & storage markets. These clock ICs based on RotaryWave™ technology break 100 femtosecond barrier jitter at low power & low phase noise !
The product family provides 3.3 V and 2.5 V operation, 1 to 10 outputs from a mix of single ended (LVCMOS) and differential (LVPECL and LVDS) outputs, and supports the full industrial temperature range (-40 to 85 degrees Celsius).
1. Memory Buffer
2. Clock Synthesizer
3. Clock Buffer/Driver
The QuietClock family supports a broad range of applications in communication and networking segments. The frequency generation and clock distribution products offered are being used in wide range of applications including Gigabit Ethernet, SONET/SDH, Fibre Channel, serial Rapid IO, and storage applications. The products are commonly used in SONET line cards (OC-48 to OC-768 and beyond), Ethernet network interface cards (XAUI, CX4), blades, servers, switches, and routers. The Multigig frequency synthesizers and buffers support most of the common frequencies including 62.5,106.25, 125, 155.52, 156.25, and 187.5 MHz. For frequencies above 200 MHz, please contact us.
