Doubles fiber capacity while avoiding costly new fiber/transceiver deployments
A simple to deploy bookend solution, it is ideal for network service providers, cloud providers, data center operators, and enterprise network operators wishing to better utilize their existing fiber. BiDi QSFP Adaptor allows them to simply pair a small form-factor passive adaptor with any fiber QSFP transceiver. This reduces the need for costly fiber trenching and frees up fiber for other services.
Why ?- Fiber trenching is very costly; capacity is finite and expensive.
- 1G and 10G bi-directional transceivers are common (needs different wavelength in two sides), BUT 100G, 200G, 400G solutions are not common.

[Eoptolink] Eoptolink Goes i-Temp for 100G QSFP28 PAM4 Optical Transceivers
Chengdu, China March 2, 2022 – Eoptolink Technology Inc., Ltd (SZSE: 300502) today announces the launch of QSFP28 100G single lambda PAM4 transceivers for industrial temperature range.
100G PAM4 transceivers are moving closer to the edge of telecom networks which results in an increasing need for industrial temperature transceiver solutions. Eoptolink is proud to announce the launch of its i-temp Single Lambda 100G Transceivers to support these applications.
Eoptolink i-temp 100G single lambda PAM4 transceivers adopt the QSFP28 form factor that operates between -40⁰C to +85⁰C. They are designed for use in 500m, 2km and 10km 100 Gigabit Ethernet links over single-mode fiber and supports IEEE802.3 100GBase standard.
The Portfolio consists of:
- EOLQ-131HG-O-5H-XI Single lambda QSFP28 100G PAM4, QSFP28, 500m I-temp

The modules incorporate 1 channel optical signal, on 1311nm center wavelength, operating at 100Gbps data rate. This module can convert 4 channels of 25Gbps (NRZ) electrical input data to 1 channel of 100Gbps (PAM4) optical signal, and also can convert 1 channel of 100Gbps (PAM4) optical signal to 4 channels of 25Gbps (NRZ) electrical output data. The electrical interface of the module is compliant with the OIF CEI-28G-VSR and QSFP28 MSA.
Eoptolinks QSFP28 modules enable telecom operators and datacenters to reduce fiber usage and increase network bandwidth. A 100G single lambda approach offers lower cost per bit and higher reliability compared to 4x25G lambdas modules.

As a result of the fast development of cloud, AI and 5G applications, demand for network bandwidth has been growing and therefore data center networks will need to be upgraded to 800G and 1.6T in the near future. Eoptolink’s 800G portfolio, which consists of AOCs and SM transceivers, are available in OSFP and QSFP-DD800 form-factor. The modules operate with 8x 112 Gbps PAM4 signals at the electrical host interface and support CMIS 4.0 and above.

The DR8/DR8+ modules have MPO-16 interfaces and support 800G, 2x400G and 8x100G applications. In breakout applications they can interface with 2x 400G DR4/DR4+ or 8x 100G DR1/FR1 transceivers.
EOLO-168HG-02-X (OSFP) and EOLO-168HG-02-X (QSFP-DD800) support 2xFR4 applications. QSFP-DD800 has two CS connectors, each carrying a 400G FR4 interface. The OSFP version is available with either dual CS or LC interfaces.
The 800G OSFP transceivers have already been tested on 800G switch platforms and showed good performance.
