Silver Telecom had introduced a series of new PoE and PoE+ devices and prototypes in IFSEC 2008. Silver Telecom received some very interesting feedback that will be implemented in our range later this year. On our stand we demonstrated our newly released Ag5000 30W PoE+ module powering a Nortech Control CRC220 2-door / 2-reader controller.

The Ag5000 provides the ability for a two door maglock access system, with dual card readers controlled by the CRC220 controller (http://www.nortechcontrol.com/), to be installed without the need for mains cabling. This will save a large amount of time and expense in the installation of door access systems.

Earlier this year we released our high quality splitter unit and now that the units have finished certification we have been talking to a number of distributors at the show. Also at the show we exhibited our new Ag5600, and Ag6000 prototypes. The Ag6000 is a PSE module that can be added to a hybrid DVR or switch type equipment to enable it to become a PSE. A PSE can power standard PoE devices such as IP cameras or VoIP phones. The Ag5600 prototype has the ability to supply 60W and was used to power a laptop during the whole of the show. These units have been produced for testing and to encourage feedback from customers which will help us formulate the final specification required for later this year.
